Anyone using HID's as high beams, and if so, what's your opinion?

I tried to use them as my high beams. But the lag, or warm up time, was just to much. Re-installed my regular high beams bulbs. When I hit the bright's it's because I want brighter light's right then. Not a few seconds later. But now I LOVE the HID's for my low beams!!

I'm using HID's in both high and low beams-h9's and h11's.There didn't seem to be a warm up time with mine, but I didn't wait but just a few seconds to just make sure they were coming on okay-which they were-immediately upon switching from low to high. They seemed VERY BRIGHT to me(all).I can't imagine them being brighter, but maybe-I'll see when I go to ride next.35 w is what I have. They ARE brilliant to say the least!!(6000K)

They're xentec-got em on e-bay(hid4u is the seller).Yep,when I ordered em I specified h9's(two)and h11's(two).The one unit had the h11's already plugged in to the sockets on the wiring harness they send, the h9's came in a separate box(in the original box)hooked up as well.

Blue07 is right. Mine would basically turn on right away. But they would not put out any appreciative light till they warm up. Maybe a second or two later. If I think I see something in the road, while traveling let's say 70 MPH. I want to hit the high beams and have more usable light instantly. Not two seconds later. Because by then you've already hit what you thought you saw.
They were just not very safe I.M.H.O. So I took them out. Just hated I wasted the money on them!!!

I only ride during the day here-and always with high beams on anyway-so...........it doesn't matter to me that they reach full potential 2 seconds later.Like I said,I haven't actually flipped the switch to brites and watched from the front to see "if" they're lighting "all the way".I do do know they come on instantly. But I will........soon.Interesting comments all-Ride safe and have FUN!!!
